Sound mirror / Vessel / Relic
Cast polymer plaster bowls, these are shattered and the pieced back together again. They are then restored using a technique similar to Kintsugi ("golden joinery"), also known as Kintsukuroi. This is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered precious metals. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than as something to disguise.
These wall mounted pieces appear to be the relics of a past, or possibly future civilisation .
